Riccardo Scattolini

Riccardo Scattolini received the Laurea degree in Electrical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano. Since 1982 he has held various research positions at the Politecnico di Milano and at the University of Pavia, where he is presently Full Professor of Process Control. He also spent one year working in industry on the simulation and control of chemical plants. During the academic year 1984/1985 he was with the Department of Engineering Science, Oxford University.

In 1991 he was awarded the Heaviside Premium of the Institution of Electrical Engineers. During his academic career he also received various national awards for his research activity. He has been member of the IFAC Technical Committee on Automotive Control and of several Program Committees of International Conferences.

His current research interests include predictive control of nonlinear systems and identification and fault detection of complex dynamic systems; the application of identification and digital control techniques to industrial problems. His research is witnessed by about 50 papers that have appeared in the main international journals of the field.
