Chiara Ravazzi obtained the B.Sc. in Mathematics for Engineering Sciences in 2005 and M.Sc. in Mathematical engineering in 2007, both from Politecnico di Torino, Italy. She then received the Ph.D. degree in Mathematics for Engineering Sciences from Politecnico di Torino in 2011, with a thesis on turbo-like codes for channel coding applications. From February 2010 to July 2010 she was a visiting member at the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, working on algorithms for Compressed sensing and Matrix Completion problems.

From 2011 to 2012 she was a research assistant at the Department of Mathematics of Politecnico di Torino, where she focused on optimization and inference problems over networks under the supervision of Prof. Fabio Fagnani. From 2012 to 2016, she was a Post-Doc at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications of Politecnico di Torino, developing algorithms for sparse recovery problems, within the project "Towards compressive information processing systems" funded by the European Union as ERC starting grant (2012 - 2016) under the supervision of Prof. Enrico Magli.

She participated to several projects -FP7 Newcom++ (2008-2010), ERC starting grant CRISP (2012-2016), ESA OCS-Tech (2015-2016) - and, since 2013, she has been a Research associate at the Institute of Electronics, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering (IEIIT) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), working on Technologies for control over networks under the supervision of Dr. Roberto Tempo.

Since 2017, she is a Researcher of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) at the Institute CNR-IEIIT, working in the Systems & Control Technologies (SCT) Group.

She is author of more than 30 works published in international journals, books, and proceedings of international conferences. Her current research interests lie in the broad areas of signal processing, optimization and learning algorithms for intelligent networked systems. Example projects include: compressive sensing and optimization for signal and image recovery; distributed compressed sensing, distributed optimization, control and optimization of dynamics over networks. A common thread in her research is the study of the algorithmic foundation behind the real-world systems to provide practical solutions to large scale problems, for which conventional techniques are not computationally tractable. This philosophy propels her research with a balance in theory and applications.

Dr. Ravazzi is a Member of the IEEE, Member of Signal Processing Theory and Methods Technical Committee (IEEE Signal Processing Society) and Member of CNIT (Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni). Since 2008 she has been serving as a peer reviewer for several international journals: IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, IEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, SIAM journal on Control and Optimization, European Journal of Control, IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, European Control Conference, IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory.

Since 2007, she has been teaching assistant at Politecnico di Torino (mainly for Mathematical Analysis, Information theory and control methodologies, Information and Coding Theory) and co-advised various master and PhD students.
